Concept video: use a mobile phone to improve the situation of homeless people
Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:21AM For the last six months or so we have been working hard to turn our idea into a reality. We have engaged with a large number of homeless people, either in the streets or in day centres and hostels. We also worked closely with a number of professionals working with and on bealf of homeless people every day. We are extremely thankful for their generous support and valuable advice.
As Ohyoon has now finished his Masters thesis project having worked with Homeless SMS for some six months, we would like to use a couple of posts to introduce some of the most important outcomes that has made so far.
And some good news! Our idea has been selected for the Shortlist of the Interaction Awards 2011. We can hardly believe that Homeless SMS is now in such esteemed company, competing with other excellent projects submitted by the likes of Nokia, Microsoft and R/GA. http://www.ixda.org/node/31304
We are now waiting on the final annoucement of the winners. Fingers crossed!
